Getting Ready for Christmas

Robin is very very very excited about Christmas coming.  He's done a little crafting of presents for family members, wrapped gifts, helped set up the Christmas tree and decorate it, etc.  We also celebrated already with my dad's family, and they gave him a remote control helicopter (fun, but conflict producing).  We also got to eat at a Chinese food restaurant, where Robin did not particularly expand his palate, but at least observed different foods!

Robin attended his classes at MAHC, including Magic Schoolbus, Model Airplanes, and Building Toys.  Here are some of the things he built:

He worked with Saxon Math 2.

He wrote and drew in his journal.  He worked with Explode the Code.

Robin tried reading again this week.  His idea; he read a few pages of Snow (Beginner Books)Snow by Roy McKie
insisting that I cover up the pictures.  Although we've read this in the past, it's not something we've read often.  Honestly, he didn't seem to have a very hard time, but he did get tired out quickly.  Then he asked me to write some sight words for him to read.  He was able to do them pretty well!

I read to him:

We made dry ice ice-cream as described in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epsr4c_oZoM.  Robin mixed it with root beer for further carbonation.

We discussed the holiday of Samhain and the roots of Halloween, and told stories about our ancestors.  Robin dressed up as a Ninja and went trick or treating, and created a pumpkin:
