Valley Forge (182/180)

All the kids went to their MAHC classes.  Here's W in the Literary Magazine and Yearbook class:


D and J were inspired to do some sewing.  They made matching eye-pillows for J and a teddy bear:



R took an Outschool class on Behavior and Learning Psychology.

D went to circus!

We went to Valley Forge.  We visited the cabins and Washington's Headquarters (where Wolfy would not have been able to stand upright - he would have been tall in 1778!) and took a hike by the stream.






J went to hip hop and ballet.

W participated in leading a worship service.

All the kids went to their religious education classes.  Here are D and R demonstrating interdependence by running (and winning) a 3-legged race.

W and R worked with LOF.  The girls played addition card games.

W read independently.  R read with support.  D practiced reading.  J mastered 
Rub-a-Dub (Bob Books Set 2: Advancing Beginners)Rub-a-Dub by Bobby Lynn Maslen.  R practiced spelling, D worked with Handwriting Without Tears, and J worked with Explode the Code.

W worked with Khan Academy Art History, walked, and cooked regularly.

Cat's Cradle (175/180)

All the kids went to their new classes at MAHC.  W is taking Yearbook, Government, and Functional Origami.  R is taking Data Driven Policy, Podcasts, and Book Club, which is reading American StreetAmerican Street by Ibi Zoboi.  D is taking Foods from Latin America and Spain, Watercolors, and Wizardry.  J is taking Ballet, Snacks Kids Can Make and Take, and Incredible India.  Here is J in several of her classes:





D went to Circus.

J went to Ballet.

All the kids went to their religious education classes.

We ate an an Indian restaurant, and everybody tried new things.  The girls helped plant flowers.

W and R worked with LOF.  D and J played addition card games.

  R read with support.  D practiced reading, starting the 5th box of Bob Books.  She is feeling challenged by the longer text in the first book, but she's pushing through!  J practiced reading.

D and J journaled a book we read a while ago:

W cooked dinner and lots of food for his birthday party.

College Tour (170/180)

R went to Parkour.  J went to Ballet and Hip Hop.  J is trying out Ballet 1 (she's been in Pre-Ballet 3) with the approval of her teacher and dance school.

W, D and J went on a tour of the campus of Montgomery County Community College.  W is considering pursing an associates degree in Game Design, starting with dual enrollment classes in the fall.

R went to a half-day middle school UUs event.  Here he is working on a breakout puzzle:

Autumn Soup in spring (164/180)

R went to Parkour.  J went to Ballet and Hip Hop.

We had visitors, including cousins with whom the girls made an elaborate treasure hunt map:

Ski Trip (159/180)

R went to Parkour.  J went to ballet and hip hop.

All the kids attended their MAHC classes.  D is taking Ancient Writing and enjoying her homework:  

All the kids went skiing at Jack Frost!  I was very proud of how they all worked together to teach J how to ski, and how W stayed mostly with her while D and R did some more adventuresome slopes.


R took an Outschool class on Extreme Animals: Poison and Venom.

D went to circus.

W went to the UUA's Youth Ministry Revival social justice conference.

R, D, and J went to their religious education class, which included some yoga:
