Getting Ready for Christmas
Robin is very very very excited about Christmas coming. He's done a little crafting of presents for family members, wrapped gifts, helped set up the Christmas tree and decorate it, etc. We also celebrated already with my dad's family, and they gave him a remote control helicopter (fun, but conflict producing). We also got to eat at a Chinese food restaurant, where Robin did not particularly expand his palate, but at least observed different foods!
Robin attended his classes at MAHC, including Magic Schoolbus, Model Airplanes, and Building Toys. Here are some of the things he built:
He worked with Saxon Math 2.
He wrote and drew in his journal. He worked with Explode the Code.
I read to him:
Mother Goose and Friends by Ruth Sanderson
Animals Talk by Emily Bolam
My Turn To Learn Numbers by Natalie Marshall
Ape by Martin Jenkins
How the Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr. Seuss
The Nativity by Julie Vivas
A Stranger at Green Knowe by L.M. Boston
Robin watched a documentary on making things wilder.
Robin attended a worship service honoring Jesus, Moses, Muhammad, Buddha, and the Lady.
He also attended a holiday sing-along.

Thanksgiving
Robin attended the last sessions of his MAHC classes for the term: Toymaking and King of Random Experiments.
He worked with Saxon Math 2.
He wrote and drew in his journal.
Robin tried reading again this week. His idea; he read a few pages of Snow by Roy McKie
insisting that I cover up the pictures. Although we've read this in the past, it's not something we've read often. Honestly, he didn't seem to have a very hard time, but he did get tired out quickly. Then he asked me to write some sight words for him to read. He was able to do them pretty well!
I read to him:
Kibitzers and Fools by Simms Taback
Garbage by Robert Maass
They're Off!: The Story of the Pony Express by Cheryl Harness
Robin exercised.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with a feast at home, and Robin tried one bite of almost everything on the table - and ate lots of turkey and pumpkin pie.
Robin attended his religious education classes, which included a lighting of Hanukkah candles, live music, and meeting live Screech and Great Horned owls.
