Birthday!

Robin attended his Religious Education classes, which focused on the story of the Exodus and on the holiday of Diwali.

We celebrated his brother's birthday.  Robin had a great time playing with his cousins and aunts and eating party food.

Butchering Chickens

Robin worked with Saxon Math 1.

And read a Bob Book.

Robin watched some of a NOVA documentary about the Easter Island heads.

He was able to assist in the butchering of 3 chickens.  Robin's uncle had a flock of elderly hens and will be moving in a few months, so decided to convert them from egg producers to meat.  Robin cut off one bird's head and helped dress them.

Soccer Tournament

Robin watched his brother's soccer tournament, and played a little before and after the games.

Robin worked with Saxon Math 1 today.  He made a graph showing number of children per family for a bunch of families we know (2 children per family made the highest bar.)

Hanuman

I read to Robin. 

Including a book about the Titanic.  He attended his religious education classes, which focused on Cain and Abel, and the story of Rama, Sita, and the Monkey King, Hanuman.

Chapter Books

Robin worked with Saxon Math 1.

We went to the library, and he practiced typing. I read to him.  He keeps wanting me to read him the chapter books Wolfy is reading, so we are trying it to see how it goes with a baby and younger sister who may not be as ready to listen as he is in the mix.  So far, one chapter a day is going fine.

We also read a book about the Titanic.

Chess

Robin worked with Saxon Math 1 today, and played a lot of chess.

Robin read a phonics reader and I read to him.

Including a book about the Titanic and an article about the discovery of the remains of King Richard III.

MAHC

Robin attended his classes at MAHC, including:

and Youth-Led Musical Theater.

Typing

Robin worked on learning to type and I read to him.

Including a book about White whales.

And one about foraging for food.

He worked with Saxon Math 1. And we read a book about chess.

Doubles plus one

Robin worked with Saxon Math 1 today. The lesson was about adding doubles plus one (6 + 7 is 6 + 6 + 1).  Robin got the concept right away but he doesn't have the higher doubles facts totally memorized yet, so it'll take a while yet for him to be fully confident.
